So your siding is dirty?
Let’s face it. Your home’s siding is dirty.
Winter dirties your home’s exterior with dirt and debris. Your home may also have spider webs from last year. Maybe even green discoloration on the north side of the home. All this may be an eye sore for you and even your neighbors.
Getting your own pressure washer and blasting away at your siding is not only terrible for your home, but it will take FOREVER! What you need to do is think about treating your siding. The professional way about cleaning siding is a process called “soft washing”. Soft washing is a process that applies chemicals and soap onto your siding with very little pressure. It let’s the chemicals and soaps do what they do best. With the right combination, there is no need to use pressure to clean. And no pressure means no damage.
The difficult part of this process is first and foremost the chemicals used to remove the algae and moss from your siding. The main chemical used in the mixture is not very easy to get in the residential setting. And once you do have the mix right applying it can be even harder.
Most of the contractors that utilize the soft washing method use a chemical pump that uses more gallons per minute than PSI. The application process is just as important as the chemical make up. Being able to access the peaks of a home with out having to get on a ladder is key!
